Keulder & Associates Biokineticists is bringing some exciting new technology with us to our new home. Two of the exciting pieces of equipment is the Grucox Eccentric Bike and the very unique and special Jintronix.
Jintronix is a method of rehabilitation using the Xbox Kinect sensor, which is a camera, which recognizes the body and therefore guides you during exercises.
Jintronix uses games that are interactive for a patient and make rehab exciting and fun. The games are displayed on a TV screen and is played using the body.
The games incorporate movement important to the rehabilitation of joints, muscles as well as cognition. Jintronix is a huge advantage to younger patients who find rehab boring, by making it exciting and fun.
There is also a competitive element which allows all patients to try perform the task better and better. In doing so the program records the patient and allows the therapist to re-watch the task.

The Grucox is a tool used to train in the form of a bicycle. We can use the Grucox to train the quadriceps and hamstrings, either Concentrically or Eccentrically. The Grucox has a advanced Drive Train which allows the bike to peddle itself. Resisting the peddles allows us to eccentrically train either the quadriceps or hamstrings. During eccentric training the muscle elongates while trying to resist or slow down an opposing force.
Benefits of eccentric training
- Greater strength gains
- Injury prevention
- More functional
- Improved muscle control
- Maximal muscle effort
- Low joint impact
Other uses for the Grucox?
- CPM (Continuous Passive Movement)
- VO2 Max
- Knee Injuries
- Active or Passive ROM
- Speed and Fitness Training
